Best DIY projects of 2012 from MAKE Magazine
MAKE Magazine has published its list of best DIY projects from 2012. My personal favourites include:
- $4 hot air ballon – a simple, easy to make hot air ballon, for hours of fun on a sunny day
- Mendocino motor – a levitating rotating motor powered by light, not very useful, but very neat, I plan to make one of these at some point in the near future
- Laminar flow fountain – as an engineer, I’m easily dazzled by the smooth flowing water fountain and the fluid mechanics behind it
- Nellie bly smoker – a DIY food/meat smoker, this is one to keep in mind for the not so near future
